Young Brigade Should Read

Dear Bankers,
If you are dissatisfied with present wages and present service conditions, you need not waste your time and energy looking for others. No one is coming to help you and resolve your problem unless and until you yourself not coming forward to organise yourself, devoting yourself to bring rock like unity and solidarity and emerging as power to reckon with. You need to act fast as time is running out:

1. Decide your aim carefully i.e. You want to be part of present ...system of fixation of wages through bilateral negotiations or you want change in the system.

2. In case you feel that present system has not been able to deliver what you expect, then decide your course of action carefully to bring about the change.

3. You can't change the system from outside by leaving your present unions and forming new union. You can change the system from inside by remaining part of the system. For this you need to involve yourself in union activities, you need to convene meeting of the union by referendum, you need to challenge your leaders asking their authority of negotiating on your behalf, you need to file industrial disputes against your own leaders demanding elections through secret ballot and by involving outside machinery of labour department after making payment of election expenses.

4. You need to stop your leaders from negotiating and settling on their own and thereby forcing on you their own decisions having no sanction, authority and mandate from you.
Remember you can't achieve any thing unless and until there is uniformity of goal, uniformity of views and unity for achieving the goal you decide collectively.

ARE you ready to come forward? It is do or die situation.Think, Decide And Act

A request to Young Bankers- By Sri Kamlesh Chaturvedi (On Facebook )
We all wants fair and decent wages which must be comparatively equal to wages of others to maintain dignity and respect in the society. Thus, you are demanding for the same and you have sound logic and arguments in favour of your demand. While doing so, you are just forgetting one thing that when some thing would have happened in the past causing bank employees loose their position, there would have been equally young and talented employees in the b...ank and they would have resisted the same, they would have done what you are planning to do. You must think that there may be certain determined persons who would not have given up and would still be fighting. In other words, they would have moved on the same path, would have faced obstacles which you too will face if you will start moving on that path from the beginning.

Successful persons have prescribed formula of learning from other's mistakes and failures because if you will start afresh, you may commit same mistake.

You need to attain in depth knowledge of causes which have brought bank employees from glorious position of the past to present pathetic position. Not only this, you need to find out as to how young employees of past time reacted when some thing happened against the interest of bank employees. What they did? How they fought? Why they did not succeed? You need to contact them because their experience of struggles may prove to be big asset for you.

Not only this, you need to find out as to why your leaders are not able to attain what you want? What is preventing them to share with you the realities and truth with you? Its not that a leader would like to earn displeasure and annoyance of the persons he is representing because leaders becomes habitual of hearing zindabad, wearing of garlands and hearing praises for them. There is some thing for sure which these leaders want to hide from you and this is such thing which has forced unity in these leaders representing unions which totally differ in ideologies and thoughts and this unity is this much strong that they send identical and similar SMS and issue similar circulars. What is that? Any guess?

In nutshell, if you will not start from where young bank employees have left, if you will not learn from their mistakes and failures and if you will not enrich yourself from their experiences, I can guarantee you will place yourself in their position.

Article below describes the main factor coming in way of expectations of bank employees to get respectable increase in their salary.

Bank Employees have been fighting against this factor since long. Two employees from Central Bank from MP were the first to highlight it by filing a writ petition before Jabalpur Bench of MP High Court. Unfortunately, these two employees had to bear the brunt of the ire of Union and Management both when their writ got admitted and were forced to ...
withdraw it.

Thereafter, several writ petitions were filed. I was the first to file writ before Allahabad High Court but most important amongst these writs was the one Filed by Canara Bank Workers Union initiated by one of my friends Sri Ganapathi Subramanian. This petition enlightened bank employees all over the country and created awareness amongst them as Stay Order obtained remain in operation for a reasonable time and both Unions and IBA were forced to file their reply. This way we became aware of the game.

One PIL was also filed at Mumbai High Court. Brave companions of Mumbai took the fight to Supreme Court. Constant and dedicated efforts of Sri Venkatesh Sriyan have been exemplary as all the writ petitions pending before different High Courts were recalled by Hin'ble Supreme Court where it is still pending.

My purpose is to apprise bankers particularly young bankers to think of the challenge while arguing for demands and then discuss and decide further course of action.
It is because I have been part of this struggle since long, I have realised that if we want to succeed, we need revolution i.e. Active involvement, support, dedication and determination of all bankers to counter the claim of the unions that they represent bankers. It is for this reason I emphasised at Jantar Mantar Demonstration that if you want fair and respectable wages, you will have to fight now before settlement or else like us you will get involve yourself in long drawn legal battle.

You need to challenge your union leaders as member of the union to question their authority of reducing the demand which had got your sanction on their sweet will without taking your consent. Take recourse of the Industrial Disputes Act which the legislative act to deal with such situation.
